Thank you for being there for the first chapter of the year at Centre for Stories.
We did have a prologue at Lit Crawl for Perth Literature festival in February, and played to packed houses in Lawley’s Bakery.
Luke Hewitt (pictured) was one of our readers at Lit Crawl and did such a wonderful job, I invited him back to open Lit Live’s monthly event. He was joined by Andrea Gibbs who has been running Barefaced Stories for the last 10 years.
The stories included in this month’s theme “I would Do Anything For Love...” are as follows:
The Long QT by Hilary Mantel
When Cupid Is a Prying Journalist written by Deborah Copaken for the New York Times series Modern Love.
An Unknown Sky by Susan Midalia from her collection An Unknown Sky and Other Stories.
Trying to keep up with grandma’s love life by Jake Maynard, The New Yorker.
Invention of Clouds by Becky Mandelbaum
Dot’s Garden by Kristen Levitzke from the collection, The Trouble With Flying (Margaret River Press).
A Great Love Affair – a chapter from John Boyne’s seminal novel, The Heart’s Invisible Furies.
Next Month our special guest reader is Gareth Aled from the stage production War Horse who joins Caitlin Beresford-Ord and Sarah McNeill to read stories about FOOLS and FOLLIES.
