Walking a mile in Janet Millett's shoes

What a privilege it was to create and perform a show for York Festival about Janet Millett. She was a woman ahead of her time, who in 1863 landed in York from England and instantly embraced the remote colonial lifestyle, the indigenous people and local settlers. Her memoir An Australian Parsonage is full of delightful anecdotes and stories, some of which I was able to put on stage, accompanied by cellist Anna Sarcich. Thanks to Rob Garton-Smith for his invaluable contribution and to York Festival director Will Yeoman for commissioning the performance.
